Ages 11–13: In a Galaxy Far, Far Away

June 13–17, 9 a.m.–3 p.m.

Make art and architecture for places far away. What would you eat, wear, and use on another planet? “Travel” to other planets and design habitats for Mars. Get inspired by space architects’ designs and research from CMU’s School of Architecture. Invent tools to make life on other planets possible. See how artists interpret and understand our galaxy. Circle of Animals/Zodiac Heads by Ai Weiwei will inspire you to think differently about time and space.

Ages 4–5: Dino Dig

June 20–24, 1–3:30 p.m.

Have a dino-mite week as a junior paleontologist! Get an up-close look at Dinosaurs In Their Time. Find out where those big bones came from and get to know the prehistoric animals they belonged to. Bone up on your dino facts by studying specimens, making fossil casts, and digging for replica bones. Meet the creatures that roamed with the dinosaurs—early mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and insects.
